FOUNDER
Roderick Powell is the founder of the Mustard Seed Giving Fund.
HISTORY
The Mustard Seed Giving Fund (MSGF) grew out of The Mustard Seed Giving Circle started in 2009 in Chicago, IL. The giving circle included Roderick Powell and a couple of his friends who had a passion for giving. The giving circle was named in honor of the Mustard Seed Prayer Band; a dedicated group of Church ladies, including Powell's grandmother Sally Owens, whose mission was to conduct intercessory prayer for those in need.
The MSGF was launched in 2018 in Atlanta, GA. It is a donor-sponsored fund domiciled with Schwab Charitable, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
MISSION
The MSGF primarily makes donations to non-profit organizations involved in Christian Media, i.e., TV and Radio. We believe that media outlets provide the best way to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to as many people as possible.
